Declaration on Accessibility
The office of the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD) is currently making its website www.dzd-ev.de accessible in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz, BGG) and the German Directive for Accessible Information Technology (BITV 2.0), in order to implement the Directive (EU) 2016/2102.
This declaration applies to the website www.dzd-ev.de.
Status of Compatibility with the Requirements
The accessibility requirements are set out in Section 3 (1) to (4) and Section 4 of BITV 2.0, which was issued on the basis of Section 12d BGG.
According to our own review, the pages have an essentially accessible and low-barrier content. However, they are not fully compatible with the aforementioned requirements.
The following areas of the website are not yet fully accessible and are currently in progress:
- Partially missing or incorrect alternative texts for control elements, images and graphics.
- Partially missing or incorrect assignment of HTML structure elements for headings, lists and content elements.
- Partially missing meaningful link texts.
- Missing labeling of foreign language terms.
- The contrast ratio of some graphics is too low.

The Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities has an arbitration board in accordance with Section 16 BGG. The arbitration board has the task of resolving conflicts between people with disabilities and federal public bodies.
You can contact the arbitration board if you are not satisfied with the answers you receive from the above-mentioned contact. This is not intended to find winners or losers. Rather, the aim is to find a solution to a problem jointly and out of court with the help of the arbitration board.
The arbitration procedure is free of charge. You also do not need legal advice.
